New Name/New Look Event – East Anglia
In November our team in the East Anglia region held their annual ‘Winter Wonderland’ event in the morning prior to the ‘New Name & New Look’ party in the afternoon.
A few of the regions ‘Winter Wonderland’ decorations made their annual appearance at the event; you may have spotted them in posts from previous years. The ‘Winter Wonderland’ event is a great opportunity for all the members of the staff team in East Anglia to get together with the children and young people and produce seasonal crafts; this year the activities included handmade season’s greetings cards, decorated snow globes, decorated Christmas tree decorations to name but a few of the crafts and many more activities that involved plenty of colouring, sticking and glitter 😊
After a morning of craft activities, there was a break for lunch. The foster carers then joined those already at the venue for the ‘New Name & New Look’ party. For the party there was a face painter, a lucky dip prize table for the children and young people and a children’s entertainer who also made balloon models; there was a fantastic afternoon tea facilitated by the venue which they all enjoyed. Following afternoon tea, they watched a video presentation by the Director, this included the announcement of the competition winners to name the elephants in our new logo.
The team were really excited to find out one of the young people in their region was one of the three winners; the young person had named ‘Nellie’ the purple elephant and they all loved the characterisation the young person had written for Nellie; well done
All the children got to take home an elephant themed goodie bag after the action-packed day.
