Trethorne Leisure Farm 2016
We had our first participation Event of 2016 at Trethorne Leisure Farm. There was an excellent turn out with around 70 carers and children taking part in the many activities the farm had to offer. The children were full of excitement, some were so excited and keen to get to the first activity they ran through the mud leading to them slipping and falling on their bottoms, causing lots of laughs for everyone. The mud was not going to get in the way of their fun though, they jumped straight back up laughing along with everyone else and continued running. There are large indoor and outdoor play areas which catered for children of all ages. There were llamas and cows, piglets and goats all waiting for children and adults alike to get up close and personal. Although on getting too close to one cow shed left all the children covering their noses and giggling “it’s too stinky to go in there” because of the smelly cow poo!” The children loved getting to feed the animals and thought that it was very funny the way the goats took the food from their hands.
The children couldn’t wait to get to the indoor play area and explore, particularly the bungee run or as it was also called by one of the children the “budgie run”. There was also an inflatable total knock out, bouncy castle disco dome and a moving climbing wall. All of the children that went on the wall were brilliant and were so excited to come and tell us how high they climbed and what level they reached. In the other building on the other side of the farm there was a bowling alley, arcade games and dodgems. After lunch most of the children had a pony ride around the court, all the children had gleaming smiles from ear to ear when on the pony ‘Bob’.
Finally, before we could all head off we headed off to cuddle the rabbits and guinea pigs. The children loved this and thought that the animals were so cute and wanted to take them home. So much fun was had and it was a wonderful way for all of the families to get together and create new memories. Thank you to all those who came today and made it such an enjoyable day.
